Almost two years have passed since we lost our usual ways to transfer money abroad. We held our last tournaments in the summer of 2022 without cash prizes, simply giving out temporary VIPs. Though the prizes were rather symbolic, 200-300-500 rubles. Anyway, interest in this format has faded, the last time only 5 people recorded demos. Despite this, I think it still makes sense to hold such events from time to time. After the cups held at the end of last year, we now have a crypto-wallet from which we can generally transfer money to the winners, however, due to a certain degree of anonymity, there is a risk of violating the legislation of the Russian Federation with such a transfer. Therefore, we will leave this feature for large cups, while regular offline tournaments will be played for fun, simply rewarding participants with temporary VIPs, unless of course they have not yet reached the VIP4 level.
We're done with the preamble, let's get down to business.
Offline tournament #26 will be held on the new community map –
cray_jariktun by
CrayFish. The map is simple, short enough, just right for a tournament. It's well designed, with quite high level of details. By the way,
CrayFish joined our company of mapcheckers and is already busy checking maps.
Tournament highlights:
- All rules for recording demos without checkpoints apply.
- Places are distributed according to the amount of Eps earned, taking into account the penalty for showpre.
- A special tournament upload has been opened on the site, do not confuse it with a regular one.
- The last day of the tournament upload is March 3 (Sunday)
I also inform you that for two months now
Counterparts has been updating files for the bot plugin. In a special form created by
lxr, he manually deletes old files, generates new bot files from world records in our program and uploads them. Thanks to this, our servers, as well as everyone who uses the bot on LAN, have an up-to-date bot on each map from the community list.
And finally, a small update on hb_lane from the latest Cosy release – the map is actually passable, but due to the imbalance in difficulty we still cannot add it. Mappers, please pay special attention to this topic, and ideally choose a difficulty for the map on which you can check the balance yourself.
