As you remember, we have already advised several times to switch to the
steam_legacy version of CS, but starting with this release, the use of this version becomes
mandatory. The thing is that in addition to the doubtful cosmetic changes, the new CS build received changed physics. In particular, we can already say that the interaction with objects has changed, which is why some object boosts have become impossible. This hasn’t really bothered us so far, but recently an unofficial version of metamod/amxx appeared that can run on a new build, along with our plugins. Therefore we are forced to make changes to
rules for recording demos, prohibiting the use of builds newer than 8684 in order to avoid problems in the near future. We cannot predict how Valve will break the game in the future, but if the steam_legacy version is no longer available, then the transition to a new build will become inevitable, and some of the records will have to be deleted. If something completely indecent happens (Valve blocks double duck, for example), then we'll archive build 8684 and post it on the website as a version for recording demos. Of course, in any case, this all hits hard on kz as a whole, but we will try to find a way out even in the most unfavorable scenario.
Now to the more pleasant news. Today we add two new community maps, continuing the lunar theme,
ym_tothemoon2024_ez and harder version
ym_tothemoon2024_h by
yumen. Note that space stage (the one on the screen) is made with trigger_push instead of trigger_gravity, so the technique for completing it is somewhat different from ordinary jumps in low gravity. Thanks to
